The Dandelion Problem in Leadership
Culture killers don’t walk in with warning signs.
They sneak in as tolerated friction.
That one high performer who’s also a jerk.
The “temporary” process that became permanent.
The endless meetings no one questions.
Leaders who let these things grow aren’t avoiding conflict — they are planting weeds.
And weeds spread.
Great culture doesn’t come from perks.
It comes from extricating things that don’t belong — early and often.
Ask yourself: What have I been tolerating too long? Where is friction normal when it shouldn’t be? What am I afraid to uproot?
If it’s undermining clarity, trust, or momentum — pull the damn dandelions.
