LEADERS GIVE WITH PURPOSE

Are you leading? Or avoiding. Start giving with purpose.

Leaders Give with Purpose.

Stop being nice and start giving with purpose.

Some leaders give because they’re generous. Some leaders give because they’re strategic. And some leaders give because they’re afraid to say no.

We’ve all seen the difference. “Nice” leaders smile, nod, offer help—but rarely challenge others or take risks. They’re agreeable. Well-liked. And often… stuck.

Because giving without edge isn’t leadership. It’s people-pleasing dressed in professional clothes.

Real generosity—the kind that transforms people and organizations—often feels uncomfortable. It requires clarity, courage, and a willingness to be misunderstood.

Sometimes, giving means:

  • Sharing honest feedback when it would be easier to say “good job”
  • Making an introduction that costs you leverage
  • Sponsoring a team member when you know other leadership may not agree
  • Saying “no” to preserve your energy for a better “yes”

“Give first” doesn’t mean “give everything.” It means lead with value, even when it’s inconvenient, unpopular, or costly. Especially then.

So here’s the gut-check: Are you giving to build something bigger—or are you giving to be like
d?

One is leadership. The other is avoidance.

Choose accordingly.
